Hello Owl Families,
Welcome to the new school year and welcome to our new Owl Families! I am very excited to see you all on Tuesday, August 19, for the first day of school. We have a lot of exciting things going on for our first day…you won’t want to miss any of it!
Your child’s classroom teacher should be visible in the Parent Portal. Last Thursday the district experienced a district wide internet outage which did delay some schools being able to see the classroom teachers. We will have rosters hanging on the MPR windows Monday from 3:00 - 4:00 PM. At this time we are not accepting requests to change classes.
Monday is our Meet and Greet for our Kindergarten and Transitional Kindergarten students. Come meet your teacher, see your classroom, learn about your day, and find your desk. The Meet and Greet is from 3:00 - 4:00 PM tomorrow, Monday, August 18th. Teachers will have a classroom presentation at 3:15 so please be on time.
Speaking of being on time, this week is the perfect time to start the healthy habit of going to bed early and being on time for school each and every day. Our main gate opens at 7:30 and we have a free breakfast served everyday starting at 7:30. The kinder gate opens at 7:40. The bell to go to your playground is at 7:40 and the line up bell is at 7:50. School starts at 7:55 in the classroom. Make every effort to be on time everyday.
The entrance on Falconer near Quantum Academy will not be used for arrival. You may enter school through the main gate or the kinder gate. Falconer will be open after school for pick up. Thank you for your understanding.
This Friday will be our first Friday Flag Assembly. It begins at 8:00 and all families are welcome. We will also give a special treat to every student who is here on Friday.
Save the date….Back to School Night is Thursday, August 28, from 5:30 - 6:30 PM. We will also have a Back to School Night Bash from 4:30 - 5:30 in the courtyard. We will have food for sale and our PTA will be here accepting memberships. Back to School Night is for parents only. If you do bring your children you will need to supervise them as we do not have child care available for this event.
Well, that is all for now. We hope you have a great start to the school year! Go Owls!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Pitard
