September is Attendance Awareness Month, but here in EUSD, you already know our motto: Every Day Counts!

Every day your child walks through our doors is another opportunity to learn something new, connect with friends and teachers, build confidence, and be part of their school community. Simply put, when students are in our schools, great things happen.

We know there will be days when students are sick and need to stay home; that’s part of life! But missing just two days of school each month adds up to about 10 percent of the school year and can make it harder for students to keep up academically and stay connected to their school community.

When our students are absent, we miss them! Each student is an important part of their classroom and school community, and being at school each day helps them stay connected, engaged, and ready to learn.

As part of our commitment to supporting regular attendance and keeping families informed, this is the second year EUSD will use automated absence notification calls for all students in TK through 8th grade. Families will receive an automated phone call at 10:15 a.m. on any day their student is marked absent from school. This districtwide process helps us provide families with consistent, timely attendance information.

If getting your child to school regularly or on time becomes a challenge, please reach out to your school. We have resources available and people ready to help. We’re all on the same team when it comes to helping our students succeed.

Thank you for partnering with us to get our students to school, on time and ready to learn. Show up, connect, learn, grow…and remember: Every Day Counts in EUSD!

Here are this week’s updates and reminders.

Back-to-school nights:

Back-to-school nights are underway around the district. For event times and dates, be sure to check your school’s website or look for a reminder in Rooms on the EUSD mobile app.
